Grenadian EC8 coins arrive in coloured proof gold and silver formats after a short delay

We covered the bullion versions of the latest pair of issues in Scottsdale Mint’s interesting EC8 last week, but unusually, the proof coloured variants did not appear at the same time. The Grenadian coins have finally showed up, but we’re still waiting for the proof versions of the 2019 Montserrat issue to be revealed.

We liked this one in bullion form, but it actually looks better as a proof coloured coin this time. It was a visually appealing before, but the swirling school of fish looks better against a blue background, surprisingly, even in gold. We’d preferred to have kept the fish free of colour, to let the metal come through, but the silhouetted diver really stands out and becomes a focal point.

As before, these are 1oz coins with a 2,500 mintage for the silver, and just 500 for the gold. Unlike the bullion coins, these come boxed with a certificate. Available now.
