Coins Today launches half-ounce versions of four of its stackable designs, and a kilo of the Aztec Shield

We’ve made no secret of our admiration for the stackable silver offerings from South Korean producer, Coins Today, which are both broad in style, and exceptionally well struck. Veering from science and technology, to historical artifacts, there’s pretty much something for all tastes, but with weights hovering around the two-ounce mark, not for every pocket, especially if you want to take advantage of the coin’s stackable nature.

In a nod to broadening appeal, Coins Today are making four of their earlier designs available in half-ounce form, keeping all the detail of the bigger originals, The four are (with links to our articles on the originals) the Doggaebi, the Archangel Michael, the Achilles Shield, and the Shield of Henry. These were beautiful designs, and nothing has changed, as you can see from the comparative images below. These are great collectable pieces, now more affordable than ever. Hopefully, these will be successful enough to warrant further releases. Mintages are unlimited, and they should be available to order any time now.

While the main story is about expanding the existing range into more affordable territory, the producer also has a track record of issuing one-kilo variants of the two-ounce originals. This time around, it’s the excellent Aztec Sun Stone, a great design in 60 mm diameter form, but looking very impressive in this giant 150 mm variant. As always, it remains fully stackable, although with a mintage of just 333 pieces, the stack won’t be reaching the moon… Also available to order shortly.
