Mint XXI’s United Crypto States series of silver coins returns with a 7th issue, featuring the Statue of Liberty

The United Crypto States coin series debuted in early 2022, with a Walking Liberty inspired design, and just 18-months later, is enjoying its seventh issue. The series is unusual in not having a country of issue, but instead carries a cryptocurrency denomination via a QR code hidden beneath a hologram on the obverse face. Five of the seven issues have a Bitcoin denomination, one is Ethereum, and one is Dogecoin.

This latest issue is the third to carry the ‘Liberty’ banner, following an eagle and the aforementioned Walking Liberty, so obviously this subset gives a huge nod to classic US currency and culture. The image of the head of the Statue of Liberty is about as ‘United States’ as it gets. It’s also one that has a one-ounce weight, with only the binary animal pair doubling up to two ounces.

Struck to a proof finish, it’s a decent representation of the iconic visage, with a clean look. The obverse is a common one to the series, irrespective of the type of cryptocurrency used, and features a classic heraldic design, depicting a shield (in which sits the hologram), and a pair of mythological creatures. As a coin, it’s a nice design in its own right, although you’ll have to decide for yourself how much the crypto association is a plus or minus.

The packaging is as neat as ever, with an attractive white box holding the coin, all wrapped inside a holographic sleeve, in what is a good nod to the holographic signature element of the series. The mintage is listed as ‘To Be Confirmed’, but the first two Liberty issues had declared mintages of 3,000 and 2,000 pieces, so make of that what you will. Available to order now.
