Ancient Warriors dimensional coin series returns with a Crusader helmet. another from man’s history of warfare
The third of LPM’s very cool ‘Ancient Warriors’ coins is here, and after the Samurai and the Spartan, comes the Crusader. Each release in this series showcases famous military headwear, and the producer has done a great job to date, managing to choose ones that are very well known. There’s an endless supply of helmets to choose from, they date back thousands of years, of course, but picking ones recognisable globally narrows it down considerably.
No such issues with the Crusaders, however, and while this has more than a little touch of the modern about it, the full face armour and prominent cross mean it couldn’t be anything else. Antique finished and two ounces in weight, there appears to be good levels of high-relief. The obverse carries the coat-of-arms of Fiji, along with the denomination and composition.
Presented boxed with a certificate of authenticity, this looks to be a great addition to one of our favourite dimensional series on sale today. The collecting of militaria is hugely popular, and this range fits in nicely, in the same way that the mass of popular culture coins ties in with the movie memorabilia market. Available to order now, from both the producer, LPM Group, and stockists worldwide.
