Hermes Winged Staff is the third of Coins Today’s ‘Divine Weapons’ and the Twinfang Daggers join them

Coins Today are back with another new pair of silver items, and as you’d expect from this South Korean producer, they’re both a long way from being standard rounds. One is a novelty item, with a military leaning, while the other is the latest in their comprehensive line-up of stackable silver bullion.

First out of the gate is Dog-tags, a one-ounce silver piece inspired by military identity tags, complete with a 12 cm sterling silver (0.925) chain. This depicts a tank on one side, packed with details, like reactive armour. There’s a smattering of background terrain, but essentially, the tank fills the space inside the raised rim. The antique finishing works well here.

The back face has a raised inscription, which sits over a pair of vehicle tracks. The hole through the piece is used to hold the chain, which you can see in the photograph lower down. A neat piece, it should have appeal to the military collectible market for sure, especially as the mintage is capped at just 1,500 pieces, which is low for this producer.

DIVINE WEAPONS 03: 2025 WINGED STAFF OF HERMES

The latest addition to Today’s ‘Divine Weapons’ series of miniature weapons is the third issued to date, and follows the Thunderbolt of Zeus, and the Bow of Artemis, both of which debuted in 2025, but with the weight increased from 2 to 2.5 ounces. This range visualises some of the legendary weapons wielded by the ancient gods, and we remain in Greece with Hermes. The trickster god of trade and sports, he was primarily the messenger god, tasked with communicating the will of Zeus to other gods, and to mortals.

He is often depicted wearing winged sandals, and carrying a herald’s staff with two snakes on it, called a Caduceus. It is the staff that Today has brought to life in silver. The design is stunning, easily the best of the three in the range to date, in my opinion. The intertwined snakes evoke classical Greek art, and the wings are beautifully detailed. I’m genuinely at a loss to find fault here.

There are two variants on offer, the most populous one having an all-over antique finish, of which 3,000 will be produced. There is also a part-gilded variant. This is unusual in having an inverted gilding layout on one side compared to the other. We think this looks vastly better than an all-gilded item, and the choice of side to view is refreshing. Only 500 of this variant will be offered. It comes boxed, with a certificate of authenticity.

2025 TWINFANG BLOOD & FROST

The second new release appears to be a one-off, and comprises a pair of one-ounce daggers called Twinfang: Blood and Frost. This seems to be an original design, maybe very loosely inspired by something in the video game Elden Ring, and the two blades are essentially identical, except that Blood has red highlights on the blade, while Frost is blue. The handle detailing is the reverse of this.

It’s an extravagant weapon, for sure, not the most practical, of course, but you would certainly notice someone carrying them! Each of the daggers is an impressive 85 mm in length, and they come boxed as a pair, and only 500 will be produced. A nice piece, packed with some excellent levels of detail, but suffers from being released at the same time as that beautiful Winged Staff.
