Launched in April 2025, Folded Dreams is one of the most original coin series of recent years, taking the ancient paper folding art of Origami, and turning it into a series of dimensional coins. The first design was shaped just like a classic paper airplane, and that was followed by a paper boat, and then a paper frog.

As Powercoin do with some of their other series, they’ve released a limited special edition variant, and this time the change is a movement from an antique finish, to a fully gilded one. In all other regards, it’s exactly the same as the original, and as that seems to be carrying a bit of an aftermarket premium, that’s probably a good thing for fans of the original that missed out.

It remains a fine, original design, and should appeal to the coin collector who likes something a little left field in their collections. The gilded coin is rarer, with just 199 examples being minted, compared to 499 antiqued coins. Available to order now.
