Cast silver weapons coins reach new lengths with MDM’s five-ounce silver trident straight from Neptune’s hand
We’ve seen some fine cast silver weapons of late, emanating from South Korean producer, Coins Today, and now German producer, MDM Wholesale is joining in with one of their own. There are some significant differences, however, with MDM’s offering being a fully denominated coin, and it’s a much bigger size, tipping the scales at five ounces, and reaching an expansive 310 mm (12″+) in length.
The trident is meant to be the one wielded by the Roman god of the sea, Neptune, and it’s an impressive thing to see, and, we’d imagine, quite the thing to hold in hand. Antique finished, it has a flowing style, yet lacks nothing when it comes to detail. Issued for Samoa, a small circular disc sits on the coin’s back with all the required issue inscriptions on it.
The packaging look great, it’s easy to forget the size when you look at the images below, and just 399 of these will be produced. A fine addition to an increasingly popular genre, and one that will certainly look impressive on display.
