KOMSCO arms the legendary Chiwoo Cheonwang with an exquisite dragon-head sword formed in 2.5 ounces of silver

Purveyors of some of the most unusual silver pieces on the market today, Coin’s Today, seem to have others to join them. They’ve long partnered with the Korean Mint, KOMSCO, and it’s there that the inspiration seems to have settled. One of the coolest series CT have produced over the last year, is ‘Angel Swords’, a series of four intricately detailed bladed weapons associated with Archangels.

KOMSCO’s release is in a similar vein, but instead of Archangels, they’ve kept the subject to one of their own iconic figures, the Korean hero, Chiwoo Cheonwang, star of a popular bullion coin range. Chiwoo is often depicted carrying a sword, and here it is in fully dimensional form, made with 2.5 ounces of fine silver, antique finished, and richly decorated on both faces.

Coming in a 145 mm in length, it’s quite exquisite, particularly around the guard, and the dragon-head grip. The latter part looks superb, but actually holding the sword doesn’t seem actually possible, so something Mr Cheonwang kept hanging on a wall, perhaps! An exceptional design, 10,000 pieces will be produced, and it should be available to order any time now.
