The whole dysfunctional family turns up for the Perth Mint’s latest Simpsons silver bullion coin

Probably the biggest and most popular animated show in television history, The Simpsons has broken multiple records over its 20 year run. The creation of Matt Groening, the show went from the humble beginnings of a small sketch on the Tracey Ullman Show, to the absolute behemoth it is today. While perhaps a little past it’s prime, it remains hugely loved, so coins were inevitable.

The Perth Mint has a long history of coin releases for popular culture franchises and has issued many coins in its numismatic range that feature The Simpsons, but a couple of years ago they initiated a silver bullion series that has seen some very cool designs. The 2021 release has now dropped and for the first time depicts the whole dysfunctional mob. Another great looking coin in our view and we like the cat and dog getting a spot.

Mintages are capped at 25,000 pieces, which is pretty low given just how popular the show is. Of those, just 2,500 pieces will be sold directly by the Perth Mint and these will be mounted to a themed blistercard, which you can see above. The rest will be sold around their many dealers and just be encapsulated, or in tubes. Available now, another great release in a series that we feel has maintained a high standard.
