Marvel bullion coin series moves away from superheroes to the morally flexible Spiderman antagonist, Venom
Now on its fourth year of issue, Marvel Comics bullion coin series has been a decent hit in the ever growing limited mintage silver bullion coin world, choosing for its subject the same pantheon of characters that have dominated the movie box office over the last decade. A simple series – just a 1oz 0.9999 silver variant – with a 50,000 mintage, they’ve managed to neatly tie in with the massive publicity surrounding the movies, even though they’re based on the original comic book representations.
Case in point is this new Venom issue, the eighth in the series. It follows last years surprise hit Tom Hardy movie and the recent Spiderman film – Venom is very much a Spiderman villain. A nice looking coin, available to order now from the distributor, LPM HK, or from several of our sponsors.
REVERSE: Depicts a leaping Venom baring his tongue and fangs, while reaching out to grab his prey. The design includes the Marvel copyright inscription.
OBVERSE: The Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the monetary denomination, and the 2020 year-date are shown on the coin’s obverse.

How many coins will be in the Marvel Comics bullion coin series ?
I don’t believe it’s been decided yet. I guess it will be limited by licencing agreements or popularity.
