Coloured proof gold and silver EC8 Montserrat coins join their bullion siblings

Following the bullion versions of the latest issues in Scottsdale Mint’s expansive EC8, the mint has finally revealed the coloured proof variants of the second of them – Montserrat. The Grenada issue was covered last week.

This is a more traditional style of design than that used for the Grenadian coin, using an enhanced interpretation of that islands national emblem. With its more intricate border area, its an attractive piece and we feel an improvement on last years coin.

Available as 1oz coins with a 2,500 mintage for the silver, and 500 for the gold. Unlike the bullion coins, these come boxed with a certificate, and in a themed outer shipper. You can read more about the whole EC8 programme in our expansive two-page profile.
