Our latest Coin Series Profile featuring Austria: Piece by Piece series now live

One of the Austrian Mints premiere precious metal series over the last few years has been the innovative Austria: Piece by Piece one. Struck in silver, or copper, there’s nothing innovative about the coin specification. However, like most Euro coins, artwork extends to both sides and in this case the mint opened up the design of one side to the countries schoolchildren. The end result is something quite different from the usual professional designed faces we normally see on coins struck by a national mint.

The last coin of the ten in the set is now for sale, and while the first nine depicted the nine federal provinces of Austria, this one looks at the country as a whole. Rather than waffle off here, you can see the range in full detail by clicking the big image above. We have more guides in the works, and if anyone has any suggestions for guides they’d like to see, let us know and we’ll add them to the list.
