First up in this month’s Royal Canadian Mint coin-fest is the latest of their First Nations coins celebrating Aboriginal culture. There are two releases this time around with a very limited (300) gold coin coming in at more than one-ounce (33.17 g) and costing $2,995.95 CAD. Highlighted with red and black enamel, it certainly is a bright looking piece.

Next up is a first for the RCM, a three coin set comprising the same design in three different finishes, proof, antique and enamel-coloured, the last two applied by hand. Selling for $359.95 CAD and packaged up in a good wooden box, the mintage is set at 3,000. It’s another unusual design that you’ll either love or hate, but struck in ulra-high relief, it’ll certainly be a striking piece if other recent designs are any indication.
