What better way to kick off 2022 than another striking silver stacker from Korea, the Persona Mask

Coming from nowhere with a hugely impressive Doggaebi Shield stacker last April, followed by an elegant Achilles Shield, and a Shield of St Michael, Coins Today have built a fine reputation for innovative stackable bullion. Now they’re back with their first 2022 release, ‘Persona Mask’, and it’s another eclectic design, this time available in two variants.

Built in a polygonal style, much like a 3D model on a computer, the form is that of a human mask, similar to those worn on the smash-hit TV show, Squid Game, also from Korea. There isn’t much else to say, really. It looks beautifully done, and as you can see in the image below, stacks together tightly and neatly. It’s very much a design for today, rather than harking back to past glories like the first three stackers that Coins Today have released.

This stacker comes in at two-ounces of 0.999 silver in weight, and is available in two finishes. The bulk of this issue will be the standard silver finish (described as Light Antique), and has an unlimited mintage. Of particular interest, however, is a Dark Antique variant. From the images, the level of uniformity hints that it isn’t a traditional hand-antiqued look, but we’ll have to wait and see for the finished article. Whatever the case, it comes boxed with a Certificate of Authenticity, and is capped at just 3,000 pieces. As a result, expect to pay a premium for it.

The first two stackers in this series later re-appeared in a larger, one-kilo format. We’d imagine a kilo version of this will be quite an eye-popping piece, but we have no news on this at present, or indeed the St. Michael release from last November. Here’s hoping. Both versions of this ‘Persona’ mask should be available to pre-order shortly. It’s great to kick off the new year with a bullion piece so original. Here’s hoping the rest of 2022 keeps up the quality.
