The Tiger Hunt 1615 A Friend in Need 1903 Tri-metallic silver coins (2024 Precious Metal Collectors)

Precious Metal Collector’s expansive fine art coin range, using their innovative Tri-Metal production process, continues to expand with a pair of new additions. For those not familiar with these coins, they are formed of a 750 gram zinc core, over which is laid 120 grams of copper, all of which is topped by 2.5oz of fine silver. This results in a relatively affordable coin for their huge dimensions, compared to a fully silver coin, with no visual differences.
The series is primarily classic pieces from the Renaissance Masters, and Peter Paul Rubens’ 1615 work, ‘The Tiger Hunt’, certainly fits that description. It’s a riot of colour and hugely dynamic. The obverse is beautiful as well, which you can see in our full Coin Series Profile of the range. The other is more recent (1903) and considerably more whimsical. Part of a series of 18 paintings by Cassius Marcellus Coolidge, they depict dogs playing poker, and are a popular piece of pop-art these days.
An interesting pair of additions to a very impressive fine art series. After a period of constant Van Gogh works, it’s great to see so much more variety in the range of late. Available to order now.
