Superman Shield 0.1 gram minigold coin (2026 Agoro)

Without question, one of the most recognisable symbols in comic book lore, the shield symbol that is emblazoned on the chest of Superman has appeared on numerous coins over the last decade, quite a few of them from Agoro, the numismatic brand of the New Zealand Mint. This time, however, it’s in a format this mint rarely uses, but one that has garnered a lot of popularity in recent years – the minigold.
Minigold coins range up to just a single gram in weight, but most sit below that, often as small as 1/1000th of an ounce. Agoro has kept things a little more impressive than that, choosing 0.1 grams for this neat reproduction of that most iconic of logos. As a result, despite the small amount of metal, this Niue-denominated coin still reaches an impressive 31 mm across.
As you’d expect from Agoro, the packaging is well realised, and the credit-card style blister drops into a more expansive sleeve themed to make a larger image. The mintage is capped at 5,000 pieces, so clearly Agoro have some faith in the format, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see Batman’s logo as a future release. A nice item with a sub-$90 price, that while not fantastic value, is still relatively affordable, and thus collectible.
