Mood: Anger one & two-ounce silver bars (2025 Le Grand Mint)

Le Grand Mint has added to its range of minted silver bars with a coloured piece that is the first in a series called ‘Mood’. The debut bar is called ‘Anger’ and depicts a female warrior standing in front of a flying dragon. The dragon is said to represent the impetuous, wrathful and ruthless side of anger, while the warrior stands for the control of the emotion. To the bottom-left, are Platonic solids, representing the Four Elements. It’s a nice piece of art by Carmen Testa, eschewing that clinical, digital look, for something altogether more natural.
The back of the bar has that signature Le Grand Mint design, which shows far more intricacy than most of the bars of this type. There are two weights available, both with identical dimensions except for the thickness. There’s a one-ounce, and a two-ounce, the latter fulfilling the role of a piedfort, in principle.
What’s unusual is the very limited mintages of these. Just 333 of the smaller bar, and 222 of the bigger, will be produced, and they all come encapsulated, boxed, and with a Certificate of Authenticity, so very much not a stackers bar. An interesting debut, we look forward to seeing where LGM goes with the series.
