Monopoly Jackpot 2oz silver coin (2025 MDM Wholesale)

Monopoly has been a popular theme of late, with even the Royal Mint getting in on the 90th anniversary celebrations, but the prime issuer of coins for the perennially popular board game, MDM Wholesale, are back marking the 10th anniversary of Monopoly Jackpot. This is a variant of the main game based around a spinning wheel that replaces the chance card. Players spin the wheel, which is colour-coded, rather than take a card.
This new coin replicates the look of the board, which is round in this version of Monopoly. It all seems to be there, although the central spinner is not replicated. That doesn’t mean it isn’t represented, however, as the coin can be spun inside its box on a spindle, and while that doesn’t make it playable, it is a neat nod to the game. By contrast, the obverse is a basic Barbados national emblem, with the inscribed issue details.
A nice change from the commemorations of the main game, MDM seems to have a knack of putting effort into understanding the core of their licensed properties, and this is a good example of that. The mintage is capped at 777 pieces, and this big 70 mm diameter coin is available to pre-order now.
