JVP’s Liberator bullion round expands with a very varied range of proof and coloured versions

Launching in July this year, JVP Coins returned with a striking new bullion round in silver and gold called ‘Liberator’. Tapping into that whole Punisher/gun-culture vibe, it was quite an in-your-face design, and something a bit different from what usually makes up this market these days. A week later, we received details of the proof versions, but what we have here are some changes to the release of the silver proof coin, as well as a whole new, and extremely varied range of coloured bullion versions.

Let’s look at the proof coin first. The silver proof coin had a mintage of 1,000 pieces, but that’s now been divided up into 600 units of the clean proof design, and 100 each of the four designs you can see below. The main distinguishing feature of the four new additions is the red inset eye detail, for that added future robo-killer look. This isn’t just added to the clean proof coin, as it’s also used in conjunction with three new finishes – gilded, black, and copper – with the black looking particularly menacing. Each variant comes in a custom tin with a Certificate of Authenticity, and is capped at just 100 pieces of each. They’re all pretty neat and sure to find fans. They should start to ship in January.

Also coming are a whole range of modded coins. Now, we don’t normally go near this type of coin at AgAuNEWS, mainly because it’s almost impossible to keep track of it all, and because it’s all a bit ‘Wild-West’ in the way it’s done (often with appalling taste, it has to be said), but we’re making a rare exception here because JVP have long done this kind of modification, and in this case, it’s their own release, so not actually an aftermarket job.

What you see below are 36 different looks for the base silver bullion round. To say it’s a varied selection would be an understatement! Nobody is going to like them all, but we’re sure there’ll be some you do, so a kind of shotgun approach to design. Each will be capped at 100 pieces, and each will come packaged similarly to the proof coins. Interestingly, these may be sold as dealer-exclusives, with each dealer able to take the 100 mintage run for their own store. We can imagine the US-based designs being attractive in that market. The packaging will also be matched to each design, so it’s all quite an involved, micro-customised concept. We’ll have to see how that pans out. These should also start to be available from January. Let us know what you think of the concept in the comments.
