APMEX are rounding out their five-issue bullion coin series, ‘Celestial Animals’ with the release of ‘The Black Turtle’ in gold and silver. The series has depicted each of the five major Feng Shui animals, the dragon, phoenix, snake and tiger, and the turtle brings it to a natural conclusion. The coin, like its predecessors, has an ornate border, and a simple, stylised image of the fantastical creature. Certainly something a little different.

Produced by the New Zealand Mint for Niue,  there are two one-ounce variants on offer. The 0.999 silver coin has a mintage of just 10,000 pieces, while the 0.9999 gold coin tops out at a tiny 100 units, each supplied in a box with a Certificate of Authenticity.
