AllCollect Predators silver bullion series leaves the four-legged world for the eight-legged scorpion

REVERSEOBVERSE

Following last years Canis Lupus debut, AllCollect’s neat Predators silver bullion coin series continues in 2020 with the early debut of Scorpions, the second entrant. These are available only in the super popular one-ounce fine silver format, but are a little more adventurous when it comes to finish.

In lieu of the usual brilliant uncirculated finish, AllCollect have employed a variety of finishes to enhance the overall look. The background field is done in a proof mirror finish. The main focus of the design – the scorpion and the sand it walks on – are struck with a matt finish, while the stinger silhouette is not only done in reverse proof, but is an incuse strike. We’re a little confused on how the reverse-proof on the proof background will work, but we’ll take another look when actual coin images are available. The Canis Lupus issue was nice design, so we’re expecting good things here.

The mintage of 15,000 is near the low end for this type of coin, and while premiums over spot will be a bit higher than the usual, they should not be excessive. Shipping from early April, you should be able to pick it up from the dealers that sold the first coin, like APMEX, Powercoin and Art In Coins, for example.
