South Korean producer, Coin’s Today, is adding a new design to its highly varied range of stackable bullion products, with ‘Bear Trap’. This one should be a little more affordable, as it comes in at one ounce of fine silver, instead of the usual two, although it does come boxed, which most of these stackable issues don’t.

CT say this isn’t meant to be a literal bear trap, but rather brings to life the classic trading phrase, which describes a false signal of a market downturn, causing traders to sell or short the asset, only for the price to suddenly reverse and start rising. It’s a symbolic design, although there are obvious shades of an actual trap in it. There’s impressive high-relief, and the subsequent back has an incuse mirror of it. It’s antique finished, and has the composition inscribed on the side.

One of CT’s more esoteric issues, we’ll have to wait and see as to how people react to it (let me know in the comments), but the limited mintage, smaller size, and packaging, make it more appealing. Available to order now.
