The Perth Mints wildlife silver bullion coin series ‘Quokka’ debuts its second annual design

Another of the Perth Mint’s myriad selection of wildlife and nature bullion coin series, ‘Quokka’ debuted last year. and today sees the second release arrive for pre-order.

The Quokka is a small cat-sized marsupial beloved by tourists for its playful looks. As such, the creature is an obvious choice for a coin series, especially given almost everything else already has one.

It’s a neat design, better than the first one in our view. There’s lots
of flora and fauna surrounding the subjects, giving the coin a pleasant
natural vibe. A one-ounce silver coin only, it has a mintage of 30,000 pieces, half of which is exclusively distributed outside of Australia by German dealer EMK, although available at plenty of other places as well.
