Released in late 2021, by the now closed British Pobjoy Mint, The Falcon of the Plantagenets was one of the producers takes on the Queen’s Beasts series made famous by the Royal Mint’s own range. The Pobjoy series had its own unique look which we always felt was greatly underrated, not helped by the basic renders that they used for them, and which we constantly complained about. It was this that prompted me to reach out for a loaner, and the result is below.

The coin was an affordable 12 grams of sterling silver, with a gilded border, and issued for the British Indian Ocean Territory. As you can see, a terrific coin, and a fine example of just what the Pobjoy Mint could do. A shame they decided to close when the owner retired. The original news article can be seen HERE.
