Pobjoy Mint launch a gold bullion version of the British Virgin Islands Pegasus coin

The second design in Pobjoy Mint’s Pegasus silver bullion coin series issued for British Virgin Islands came out back in February and now, for the first time, it’s getting a release in gold. A good looking coin (far better than the terrible official images indicate), it appears to have translated faithfully to gold. Other than some minor and necessary inscription changes, and the smaller diameter, there’s thankfully no change from the silver coin.

The Pegasus rearing up with wings outspread is a lively looking piece, and while the mintage is unlimited, we can’t imagine there will be a huge number of these produced. Available from the mint or from a selection of dealers who normally stock Pobjoy issues, like APMEX.
