New images of the Magikos Coins produced ‘De Doodle’ silver coin show an impressive, inventive release

We were pretty intrigued by the Magikos release, ‘De Doodle’, back in January, when we published early renders of the first in this new series, ‘Space Exploration’. We did promise a better look at it when we received images of the finished article, and having just had them drop into our inbox, here we are. I have to say up front, it’s even better than I expected.

I’m not going to regurgitate the original article, so just click the link above to have a read, As you can see, the quality and quantity of the high-relief is top-notch, and the distribution of all the different elements is handled really well. Thank designer Beata Kulesza-Damaziak for that, and the attractive combination of antiquing and black proof finishes. We did have some concerns on how the 3D printed planets would look, but they have more detail, and better colouring than we envisaged, plus they glow in the dark. It all ties in well with the child-like look at reality depicted on the coin, and adds a little more dimensionality to it.

We mentioned a little surprise to be added to the coin package, and it’s a 34-piece puzzle. This comes similarly boxed to the coin itself, both of which then sit in a combined package. Again, you can see it lower down. All together, a really distinctive issue, full of nice touches, and what looks to be struck to an impeccable standard. It should start to ship in early November, and has a mintage of just 420 pieces.
