Pik Coins returns to celebrating the US 250th anniversary with a two-piece bar incorporating a Silver Eagle bullion coin

While the 250th anniversary of the United States hasn’t brought the expected tsunami of coin releases we were expecting at the start of the year, there has been quite a bit of interest, with some diverse offerings for the celebrations. PiK Coins released a neat two-ounce silver bar earlier this year that has obviously done well for them, but they’re one of the few to remember that there are other anniversaries in 2026. For the numismatic world, the big one is the 40th anniversary of one of the most iconic bullion coins of all time, the American Silver Eagle (ASE).

The concept here is the coin bar, which has a rectangular undenominated bar of silver in which there is a hole formed. In this hole resides an original bullion coin. We’ve seen examples with Chinese and Australian coins before, but as you’d expect from the subject, this one incorporates the aforementioned American Silver Eagle, in 2026 issued form, along with some appropriate art.

The bullion coin is unchanged in any way, so the burden of originality falls squarely on the bar itself, and here, PiK have leaned heavily into the bird, and its association with Americana. The background is filled with the United States flag, unsurprising given how ubiquitous it is there, but the main element is a resting Bald Eagle on a branch that extends right across the bar. It looks good, and bang on theme. The back of the bar has an eagle soaring over the four presidents on Mount Rushmore, with the bullion coin set as if Liberty is watching the scene. It’s all a fitting tribute to an industry icon.

There are two variants on offer, centred around a change to the bar, not the coin. The standard version is cleanly struck, and has a mintage capped at 999 pieces. Considerably rarer, at just 99 units, is a version with the Stars & Stripes fully coloured. Both come identically presented in a box that, when the lid is opened, plays the US national anthem. Available to pre-order from today, it’s a neat marking of the anniversary of a modern coin legend.
