Darth Vader is wheezing his way back in 2018 with a new bullion coin from Niue and the NZ Mint

The latest bullion coin from a company that has embraced that market more than ever recently, the NZ Mint today announce their new 2018 Darth Vader issue. Like the first Vader coin and the subsequent Stormtrooper and Disney issues, this will be available as a limited mintage 1 oz coin in silver (250k) or gold (25k). A pretty cool looking design in that pseudo bas-relief style the NZ Mint likes, it should ship from 16 July. Plenty of dealers will have these, especially those who have stocked the previous popular releases. A good release from a mint with a fine selection of eclectic bullion coins – quite underrated.

REVERSE: features an officially licensed, close-up image of Darth Vader™ with his Lightsaber™, which is raised and polished. He is set against a satin matt background featuring the Imperial logo. It also features the metal weight and quality, and has been stamped with the Lucasfilm copyright and New Zealand Mint logo to provide further authenticity.

OBVERSE: features the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
