CIT Summer ’23: Additions to classic series and exciting new designs. CIT flexes its design muscles with another outstanding launch
We say this every time, and we mean it every time – CIT have launched another epic range of coins, this time for their Summer Launch 2023. As always, it’s a wildly varied mix of designs, encompassing additions to existing series, and all new issues, We’re covering three of the new ones in a separate article, so they’re not shown here.
There are silver coins of varying sizes, and gold ranging from one-ounce, to just half a gram. Those half-gram coins, we call them minigold here, have been a staple at CIT for many years, and it’s been great to see how the introduction of new minting techniques has led to a big jump in quality, even when the lump of metal you have to work with is so small. The Ancient Greece range is beautiful, and eminently affordable.
The highlights will obviously be personal for collectors, but for me, Lovecraft: Azathoth, Steampunk: Science Lab, and the gold Numismatic Icons, are all outstanding, plus the three we’ll cover elsewhere, of course. The Evolution of Life series, now nine issues old, is as terrific as ever, and Tiffany Art Metropolis showcase the Palace of Westminster, a really beautiful building. Your choices will likely be different, but no less excellent.
