CIT’s first big launch of 2025 impresses, with geology, nature, fantasy, and the cataclysm of Pompeii, adorning new coins

One of the most anticipated launch tranches on the numismatic calendar, CIT’s Winter Launch for the World Money Fair in Berlin, is now upon us. We expect a wide selection of different styles and themes, and they haven’t disappointed. There are new additions to continuing series, like Tiffany Art Metropolis (now in Washington), Wild Mongolia, Silverland, and Historical Monuments.

There are some terrific all-new coins as well. The Sea Monster coin looks great, as does the 360 degree view of New York. Samurai not only looks superb, but is a fine demonstration of the technical capabilities of their proprietary smartminting technology, and Pompeii does the same with a dramatic, if not particularly accurate, depiction of one of the ancient world’s most famous cataclysms.

As we always do, here’s a round-up of the excellent videos CIT make available, and we’ll take a deeper dive into many of these over the coming week or two.
