More Disney on the way from the New Zealand Mint through 2015 including, we’ve been led to believe, more vintage Disney along the lines of the ultra-popular ‘Steamboat Willie’ and Donald Duck 80th Anniversary coins. That’s good considering they’re still seen as the peak of Disney releases from the NZ Mint so far.

This time around we’ve got the first in a new series called Disney Princesses, and it features one of Disney’s all time biggest properties, Cinderella. Great timing from the mint as although this depicts the animated version, there’s a new live-action film hitting cinemas very soon with a strong cast and directed by Kenneth Branagh.

It’s a standard spec from the NZ Mint, a coloured one-ounce silver and a clean quarter-ounce gold, so no surprises there, following as it does the Mickey and Friends coins that also came out in gold. If the subject matter appeals it won’t disappoint, but we’d still rather see a Fantasia coin. Available today.
