COLOURED MINTED SILVER BARS (2024) by Scottsdale Mint
We’ve increased our coverage of bullion bars here, mainly due to the recent popularity of Germania Mint’s coloured two-ounce cast bars, and we’ve already written a Bullion Profile to Scottsdale Mint’s flag bars.
Unlike Germania Mint’s coloured offerings, these bars are minted rather than cast, are all an ounce in weight, and an identical size (although the orientation can change from portrait to landscape).
This guide will cover everything outside the flag bars, which have their own profile, and at the time of publishing, the releases remain ongoing.

A direct sequel to the 2024 Monster Collection, we’ve only seen seven designs, compared to the eight last year, and one of them, Chupacabra, isn’t actually up on Scottsdale Mint’s website as I write this. Another great selection, with the Lovecraftian Cosmic Horror, the Plague Doctor, and the aforementioned Chupacabra (looking like a 1950s sci-fi movie creature), being highlights. The mintage of each design is capped at 499.
Like the 2024 Spooky & Sweet series, this sits alongside the Monster Collection, having been released simultaneously with it. A little grittier than the 2024 series, and lacking a bit of the charm, in my opinion. A good mix of subjects, though. They have an unlimited mintage, except for, strangely, the Headless Cowboy, which they list as capped at 199. That might be a typo, but it does have the space at the bottom for a serial number the others don’t, so it’s more likely a Scottsdale Mint limited exclusive.
Continuing the celebration of holiday events with these bars, it’s Saint Patrick’s Day that is the next to join the line-up. In addition to these bars, there are also three rounds, each with a design different to those here.
The celebratory bars seem to be getting more and more focused on specific events, and ‘Graduation Day’ is one of those. There are only two bars in this series, but two coloured rounds also accompany them.
Another celebratory event range, this one covers the Mothers Day, and Fathers Day celebrations.
This time, there are five bars marking the Easter holiday, with a mix of the hard religious, to the kids.
The first range of 2025 is this series themed around Valentine’s Day. Much like the Christmas range, this one varies widely in subject, and most will find something appropriate to give to a loved one. In addition to these bars, there are also seven rounds, each with a design different to those here.
The 2026 Valentine’s range comprises eleven bars, seven of which are carry-overs from the 2025 range. The first five images above, are the other four bars. The Western Pet pair of images are actually from the same bar, which is double-sided.
Ready for the Halloween 2024 season, a series of eight, tightly themed bars, depicting all the classic monsters most associated with the holiday. We think the Zombie, Mummy, and Black Cat designs are the best, but let’s be honest, everyone will have their own favourites. This range is unusual in not having an unlimited mintage. Each design is capped at just 499 pieces.
These are Halloween designs for the collector who likes something a little more relaxed, or who wants to gift to a younger stacker. They’re actually pretty neat and attractive designs in their own right.
Quite an unusual theme, these are basically Wild West Halloween bars. Just a pair of them at the time of writing
At the time of publication, the debate between these two has just concluded. Of all the elections we’ve seen over the past few decades in the US, this seems to be the bitterest, and most divisive, with most of those in one camp or another at this stage, never contemplating leaving it. What’s always been a signature element of these elections, has been the imagery, and we have these two designs done in the style of Barack Obama’s ‘Hope’ poster, which was produced in 2008 by American artist Shepard Fairey. Really well realised, in our view.
AMERICANA (2025)
A second series of Americana designs that will have plenty of appeal in the US, but leave most others scratching their heads. They’re all jingoistic, and idealistic, with guns and flags everywhere. However, being completely honest, there are also some genuinely appealing pieces in this 2025 selection, especially (in my opinion), Classic Benjamin, Pastel Bald Eagle, Liberty League, and American Outlaws.
These have a mintage of 1,776 pieces, except for the ones we’ve single asterisked, which are capped at 999, and the ones double asterisked, which have an unlimited mintage.
CHRISTMAS (2025)
For 2025, Scottsdale Mint actually expanded this series to an eye-watering 31 designs. Ten of them are reissues of 2024 bars, and a couple of others remain identical except for a date, but that still leaves plenty of new options. The Renaissance Reindeer is a highlight for me, but several others are pretty cool as well.
