Star Wars annual weirdness returns with carol singing rebels on a new festive silver foil
With silver foils remaining popular and clearly here to stay, we’re seeing a bit more variety in the styles and subjects than we were initially. The NZ Mint ae the biggest issuers of the relatively new format and have concentrated on movie posters and characters for their many licenced properties. There is the occasional oddity, however, such as last years Christmas themed Darth Vader foil.
Well, they’re back, and weirder than ever. It’s the turn of the goodies to get the treatment, which given the holiday being celebrated, makes more sense than the psycho genocidal maniac on the 2018 issue…
A 5 gram silver foil depicting the four heroes in full seasonal song, it comes in a gatefold-card style package, so can be given as a Cristmas card to the avid Star Wars fan. At almost $50, it’s up $10 on last years issue, It’s actually a denominated coin as well. Available today.
