We’ve had Pickle Rick, and now Banana Rick breaks into coins from the mad genius that is the cult animated hit, Rick & Morty

The chaotic animated series, Rick & Morty, is back at Glines and Rhodes after a small detour to the Mint of Gdańsk, and the NZ Mint, and it’s one of their shaped coins again. The first of them was Pickle Rick, and this time it’s another of the incarnations created by the alcoholic genius scientist, Banana Rick. For those unfamiliar with the series, or the comic books, you’re probably just thinking ‘What!’, but trust me, fans will get it, and you might like the series as well. Go check it out if anarchic comedy is your thing.

This coin follows the exact same format as Pickle Rick, being a one-ounce silver coin, shaped, but not high-relief. It’s coloured on the reverse face. Banana Rick is another great choice amongst many, and if they wanted to, and if it’s popular enough of course, this is a series of coins that could run and run. The presentation is fully on point, themed around the portals, and the mintage of 1,499 isn’t excessive. One thing to note is the change of issuing nation from the Cook Islands, to Barbados.
