Scottsdale Mint revives it’s 2019 Cameroon Cheetah bullion coin, expanding the range to three formats

In amongst the seemingly countless designs in our round-up of Scottsdale Mint’s bullion series, we have a small section simply titled ‘Solo Releases’. These are issues not in a series, and only available in a single format. In amongst them is the 2019 Cameroon Cheetah, a one-ounce silver release. We’re going to have to move it, because Scottsdale Mint have now issued a new coin, officially making this a series, and at the same time, have tripled the number of available variants.

Scottsdale Mint has a Leopard series, issued for Ghana, and running unbroken since 2017, so the big cat isn’t unique in their range. They have kept the stylised geometric background of the 2019 coin, so perhaps this will be the series signature visual element, should the series move forward. Despite that, the depiction of the animal is very natural, and well realised. A striking contrast, but it seems to work.

As we said, the 2019 issue was just a single one-ounce silver bullion coin, but the bullion range has expanded to include a tenth-ounce 0.9999 gold coin as well. In addition, there’s a proof gold version, fully boxed with a certificate of authenticity, of one-ounce weight, and rocking a tiny mintage of 100 pieces. A decent release, it should be shipping in the next couple of weeks, and be available to order now.
