The NZ Mint starts its Star Wars silver poster foil run through the final Star Wars trilogy

The NZ Mint’s premium foil series of Star Wars movie posters continues its run through the nine movies in the main sequence (a trilogy trilogy?) with the first of the latest three, The Force Awakens. Whatever your views on the new movies, and they do differ wildly, there’s little argument that the posters are true to the iconic originals from the 80’s and this one is a particularly jam-packed one.

For those unfamiliar with these foils, they’re expansive (262 x 175mm) silver sheets that are struck like a coin with some light detail, and then coloured. Compared to the average 1oz coin coming in at 40mm in diameter, these are positively huge and definitely more appealing to the more casual collector who loves the subject more than numismatics in itself. Available now, they are easy to display. Expect The Last Jedi, and The Rise of Skywalker to put in an appearance later this year.
