The latest 2016  bullion coin is now available and it’s the next in the New Zealand Mints relatively new foray into the lunar bullion market. With last years 2015 Year of the Goat being the launch coin in the series, these heavily stylistic designs are quite different to those of the Perth Mint which are more traditional in nature. Relatively unknown in comparison, these are nevertheless nice coins that are well worth seeking out if the premium isn’t excessive.

Available as a one-ounce silver or a one-ounce gold coin only, mintage doesn’t seem to be restricted, but as last years doesn’t appear to have been a huge seller, mainly due to its low profile rather than any design weakness, they could show some decent appreciation further down the line. Although the mint states a minimum order of 20 units, collectors should be able to pick one up from one of the number of dealers worldwide that stock them. Featuring three monkeys playing amongst flower petals, it’s a refreshingly different design, actually working better in gold in our opinion. Available now.

Those born in the Year of the Monkey are highly intelligent, have a positive sense of humour, and a magnetic personality which leads to them being prosperous individuals.

Always sociable, Monkeys are often seen ‘swinging’ from one group of friends to another, attracting a social following due to their charm and energy. Continually upbeat, they are often considered celebrities in their own circles thanks to their humour and sharp minds.

Romantically, those born during the Year of the Monkey make attractive and passionate lovers, due to their cheerfulness and wit. Monkeys are also great listeners and handle complicated situations or problems with ease, due to their natural intelligence and thirst for knowledge. This is emphasised in a career sense, where they can prosperously adapt to a variety of work environments. Skilled at problem solving, the Monkey is ambitious for success, which is usually granted due to their remarkable intelligence.
