Star Wars poster coin series continues with the prequel movie Attack of the Clones
2018 ATTACK OF THE CLONES
A pretty cool poster for a lacklustre movie sums up the New Zealand Mint’s latest entrant in it’s multi-year Star Wars poster series of one-ounce silver coins. Rectangular, as most poster coins are and should be, it’s a simple enough affair that fans of the movie (I think there’s a few…) will love and Star Wars completists will want.
The movie was released in 2002 to mixed reviews, but it grossed $649m, even though it was the first Star Wars movie not to top the box office charts for its release year. Full of superb special effects and bad acting, it’s a love it or hate it kind of film. These coins are very well done and the supplied solid clear frame is the perfect way to display it. Obviously, we’ll see the final coin released later this year – the 2005 hit, Revenge of the Sith. Available from the 20th August, the coin has a rrp of $85.00 USD
REVERSE: The coin’s reverse features a replica image of the original poster for Star Wars: Attack of the Clones.
OBVERSE: The Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the monetary denomination, and the 2018 year-date are shown on the coin’s obverse.
