Star Wars A New Hope silver coin notes continue with Obi Wan and the droids

The second and third in the New Zealand Mints new Star Wars: A New Hope coin notes have been released today and feature the Jedi Master Obi WanKenobi and the droid double act, C3PO & R2D2. A seven coin set, these will add to the first coin that depicted Luke Skywalker and will sit in the same album that coin was supplied with.

Coin notes are still relatively new, but these seem to be picking up in popularity, no doubt aided by the subject matter having huge appeal outside of the more hardcore numismatics collector. With Star Trek also available (two new coins in that set are due in four days time) and Disney Princesses ongoing, there’s something for most tastes and the mint has big plans for the format, so they could be 2018’s big thing.

These are 5g in weight and 150 x 70 mm in size. They come in a thin sleeve as they’re designed to sit in the collectors album that came only with the first coin.
