The world’s most uncomfortable hat is the subject of Scottsdale’s latest Biblical Series silver coin
The second of six coins to be issued in this series throughout 2019, and the 26th of 60 overall, Crown of Thorns is the latest in Scottsdale Mints epic Biblical Series of 2oz silver coins. The coins take their design from a series of woodcut illustrations of the New & Old Testament by 19th century French wood engraver, Paul Gustave Louis Christophe Doré.
Whether you’re religious or not, these are superb coins that depict key scenes from the book. Universally struck to a high-standard, they are rimless, high-relief and antique finished. They’re packaged in a cardboard book-style box and with a Certificate of Authenticity, but regular buyers of these will likely want to splash out on one of the annually issued leather collectors boxes which look quite attractive.
We’ve had a Coin Series Profile to the range running for a couple of years now, and if you check it out you can see all of the issues to date on a year by year basis. We’ll add this latest release to it shortly. Expect the third coin in a couple of months time. Available now.
