Our best wishes to all our friends. May your holiday be relaxing, and here’s hoping 2023 will be a great one.
First off, a quick apology for the lack of activity over the last few days. My beautiful little monster, and part-time site mascot, Burka the Cat, was taken ill over the weekend. Unfortunately, she deteriorated rapidly and was diagnosed with untreatable cancer. My little girl was given peace this morning. Only 8 years old. Absolutely devastated, as she spent every waking moment an arm’s length away. I’m not a big people person, but animals are everything… Obviously, coins are the last thing on my mind.
I’d hoped to have a couple more days of posts, but we’re taking a break until after the holiday. I need it anyway. I also hoped we’d all have a great 2022 just a year ago. We haven’t of course, but I will still wish all of you the best for 2023 anyway. Things have to get better soon, right?
As always, massive thanks to our advertisers for keeping us alive, and to those that have donated over the year. It’s all so incredibly appreciated, I don’t have words. I really hope what we’ve done has been of interest, and in some way, a pleasure for you all. It’s good to think you may have found something that might otherwise have passed you by.
We wish you all the best for the holiday period, wherever you are, and however you celebrate. Treasure your loved ones, be they two-legged or not, and try to have some fun. I don’t doubt you deserve some. All the best.
Mik
Best wishes Mik for 2023 and I sympathize with your pain regarding Burki, she was really a beautiful cat. I had many cats, I love them too. And of course, thank you for your work on this essential site!
Thank you, Olivier. Going to toast my little girl’s journey. I know it may sound silly to some, but really struggling with it. Anyway, thank you for the kind words, and have a great holiday.
Not silly at all. I love cats and lost my Bengal a couple years ago. The pain lasted quite a while.
All the best!
Paul
Cheers, Paul. Horrible feeling, like I let her down somehow. After the last few years, I thought we were at rock-bottom. Guess I was wrong. Anyway, life goes on. Have a great holiday, mate. All the best and thanks for the kind words.
Animals become part of the family, and it’s really hard to loose them. Just take your time needed to cope with that.
Thank you Mik for all the hard work, it’s indeed incredible. All the best for festive season and coming year. We all hope for changes for better…
Thanks, Alex, You have a great one too. All the best.
My wife and I know all too well of this type of loss.
Thank you for all you do!
Wishing you and yours a Happy, Healthy, Prosperous year ahead.
Thanks, Bill. All the best to you and your family.
