New images of the Mint of Poland’s Twelve Labours of Hercules coin show great promise
In early April we wrote about the first coin in a new series by the Mint of Poland chronicling the famous ancient myth of the twelve labours of Hercules. An icon of the world of mythology, his story will be told across twelve coins with a planned release schedule of two coins per year. You can read more details in our original article so we won’t rehash it here..
Since then, we’ve recieved the CGI renders that the Mint of Poland puts out for its premium issues and we can see the potential of this one much more clearly now. This could certainly grow into an impressive set when completed, all held together by the well thought out and expertly realised obverse face.
Distributed by two dealers, Coin Shoppe in Canada and Magikos Coins in Poland and it will no doubt be available worldwide in short order. Price will be around the €200-220 / $250 USD mark, which is fairly typical for a high-spec two-ounce silver coin and it should be shipping in June, although in can be pre-ordered now. Only 500 will be minted.

Recently received Hercules coin. Very nice & in very high relief. Gold gilding reverse highlighting labor portrayed on front very cool touch. Anxious to see depictions of Hercules’ 11 other labors. Good start to what should be an interesting series-tells great mythological tales. Mint of Poland coins always well done superior pieces.
