Just a quick look at all the new coins from Coin Invest Trust to be launched at the ANA show. Traditionally, CIT kept all their best coins for the Berlin World Money Fair at the beginning of the year, like Tiffany and Mongolian Wildlife Protection. Last year however, saw a particularly strong showing at the ANA in August, and that’s the case for 2016 as well. We’ll have a better look at them over the next couple of days.
The likely big hit will be the astounding Skull No1 coin. It’s hard to believe that this isn’t cast, but fully struck, a testament to the SmartMinting process. The relief is quite extraordinary and the design first class. We predict this one will be hugely popular.
The second Evolution of Life coin features the trilobite using an actual fossil from Russia as inspiration. Last years Ammonite coin was easily one of the best coins of 2015 and this one follows suit. A small minigold coin will be available, as with the skull coin above. The second Magnificent Life coin is also a fine one, holding up the standard of last years peacock.
The Tamdakht Meteorite Strike is also hugely impressive, being overstruck with a hole being punched straight through that is unique to each coin. A full 38.61mm across and high-relief, it weighs just ½ oz. Denali is the first of the Seven Summits coins, featuring the tallest peak on every continent. Struck in 5 ounces, a rare one for CIT, it looks superb. The Hi Carv Lunar Rooster is as impressively high-relief as ever.
There are additions to Marine Life Protection, World of Wonders, Ounce of Luck, and World Wildlife Fund series, as well as a somewhat gaudy, but imposing Valentines Day coin.
A hugely impressive selection. Look out for more tomorrow when we’ll start to look more closely at some of these.
Wow, been waiting for the Trilobite coin for ages, wasn’t a big fan of the Polish Mint’s cheeky release. This looks even better than the previous one! Some of the other coins look amazing too… Well done CIT and thanks for the heads up Mik!
No problem George. I totally agree that this one is nicer than the other trilobite coin, as good as that one was.
Amazing examples there, but that lunar rooster needs work LOL
The clover leaf looks just like last years, and the years before that too. They used to change this up every year with different looking clovers.
