Australian Emu bullion coin series from the Perth Mint and Metal Mmarket EU is back with a fourth issue in gold and silver

Back with a fourth issue today is the Perth Mint’s ‘Australian Emu’ bullion coin series. Known for its wide range of nature themed bullion coins, toped by such stalwarts as the iconic Koala and kookaburra lines, the mint has nevertheless branched out heavbily into the limited mintage market. They have numerous series across a wide range of subjects, but nature is where its at.

The Emu coins have been nice designs to date, with a very consistent level of style and quality, despite employing several artists to do the job. The latest is no different, with Monique Reeves doing a great job showing an adult and a young bird wandering through the outback. Covering the border area for much of the face is a nice touch as well. Many mints have this inexplicable need to keep a border and fill it with unnecessary inscriptions, but that’s not the case here.

The same two bullion formats are on offer. A one ounce silver and a one ounce gold, both 0.9999 fineness, are released today, and there’s usually a one ounce silver proof to follow for the collector. The silver bullion variant keeps the 30,000 mintage of previous issues, while the gold also stays steady at 5,000 pieces. Exclusively distributed by Metal Market EU, it should be available to order today. A really nice looking addition to the bullion market, and especially for fans of Perth Mint bullion.

We’ve also knocked up a Bullion Profile to the series which goes live as this article does. It has images of all four issues to date, in both gold and silver, as well as the proof coins. Check it out HERE.
