Warriors of History heads to the Middle East and the Middle Ages with the Ayyubids

The New Zealand Mint have released the seventh coin in their series Warriors of History. Depicting some of the warrior classes throughout history, the series launched in June 2016 and has travelled around the globe and through time from pre-Roman times through to the Middle Ages.

This seventh coin looks at the Ayyubid Empire from 12th century Egypt and Syria and is another fine depiction of a warrior selectively picked out in colour, and an action scene in the background, antiqued like the rest of the coin. Available to order now, the coin retails for $85.00 USD and can also be found at NZ Mint dealers worldwide like Minted-UK and Powercoin. It comes nicely boxed with a certificate of authenticity and has a mintage limit of 5,000.

If you’re wondering why this is a brief description, you’ll be pleased to know we’ve knocked up a guide to the whole series that takes a more comprehensive look at all of the coin launched to date, including this one. Check it out.
