Star Wars Day – A New Hope coin note series adds Princess Leia and Han & Chewie

One of the first of the new wave of silver coin notes from the New Zealand Mint, Star Wars A New Hope has proven to be a popular item and the six coin set is seeing its fourth and fifth issues today. The first of them stars Princess Leia, played by the hugely talented Carrie Fisher who sadly passed away recently. One of the most popular characters, this is a fine addition to the set.

Also joining in is one depicting both Han Solo and his hairy sidekick Chewbacca. A perfect match for the Leia note given their relationship was one of the main anchors of the original trilogy of movies, it shows another classic pose of the pair fighting outside the Millenium Falcon.

Both are available later today for $39.00 USD each and have a 50,000 mintage.
