Scottsdale’s epic multi-year Biblical Series welcomes its 23rd release
Now in its fourth year, Scottsdale Mints Biblical Series is an epic range of coins based on the work of 19th century French wood engraver, Paul Gustave Louis Christophe Doré. Known for his unique style and prolific output, Dore produced a large number of biblical works for a book in 1866. That’s fortunate for Scottsdale as the completed set is planned to be released over ten years at six coins per year.
This latest coin is called ‘Temptation of Jesus’ and is again, a numismatic realisation of a Dore original woodcut. This is an ambitious, and impressively produced series which those of a religious bent will find much to like in. We’ve added the coin to our Coin Series Profile of the set where you can see other pictures of this release, as well as the preceding 22 issues.
