The iconic skyline of the Russian capital, Moscow, is CIT’s latest Skyline Dollar silver foil

The Singapore Coin Fair has just passed and as is traditional, CIT Coin Invest added a couple of items to their repertoire for the occasion. First of those was a new addition to their ever growing series of silver banknotes called Skyline Dollars. These 150 x 70 mm fine silver foils each depict one of the world’s great cities and Moscow is the fourteenth to join this cosmopolitan set.

We’ve seen quite a few of these in hand and they do have an appeal that has helped grow this genre from almost nothing to the rising popularity it has today, particularly from the movie-themed issues by the New Zealand Mint and soon, the Perth Mint. Moscow fits right in and while the skyscrapers in the background are pretty generic for a modern metropolis, there’s no mistaking the coloured buildings on display.

Sealed in laminate, as they’re only 0.045mm thick, these would display nicely, although CIT themselves have yet to produce an album or book to do so. The mintage is capped at 5,000 and it should be available to pre-order now. We have a Coin Series Profile of the whole range up for your perusal.
