The iconic vessels of Star Treks Original Series warp onto Tuvalu’s latest silver coin

Another release in the Perth Mints Star Trek range, this one harks back to the original sixties series and depicts three of its most iconic vessels. Struck in two ounces of fine silver, the coin is packaged in a replica Star Trek communicator. These are very cool, having been used once before, and go some way to offsetting the sedate design of the coin. The Worf coin the mint released recently was a step in the right direction, but this simple coloured image format is looking tired for what should be a rich and innovative licence.  The coin sells for $230.00 AUD and has a mintage of 850. Available now.

REVERSE: Central to the coloured coin’s reverse design is the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC- 1701, a powerful interstellar spacecraft dispatched by the Earth based Starfleet Command to explore the galaxy. Also incorporated into the design are the predatory Klingon D7 Battle Cruiser and a Romulan Bird of Prey, represented against a stunning galactic background.

OBVERSE: features the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the 2018 year-date and the monetary denomination.

PRESENTATION: The coin is presented in a Star Trek inspired Communicator within a themed shipper box and is accompanied by a numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
